EXPERIENCE
Housing:
- Extensive experience in the design and construction of individual houses both traditional and contemporary and housing developments for private clients, private developers and house builders.
- Knowledgeable in related planning matters, building regulations and other approvals needed in this field.
- Knowledgeable in sustainable construction and energy saving techniques
- Specialist knowledge in re-use of existing buildings for housing, barn conversions, private swimming pools, conservatories and green oak construction.
Commercial:
- Extensive experience in the design and construction of mixed developments of housing, retail/offices for infill sites within urban areas and smaller towns.
- Negotiations with authorities.
- Formation of master plans for Glasgow Docklands for SDA (1986) and master plan for Calne (2006).
- Design and construction of internet data centres in London and Europe with average construction cost of £10K built on fast track procurement method.
- Assisting in the assembly of land for development.
Community
- Design and construction of art gallery, sports pavilion, music studio and experience in schools
Conservation
- Repair and conversion of listed buildings including grade A (Scotland) and grade 2* (England) and sensitive work within conservation areas.
Interior Design
- Design of interiors including special furniture designs.
KEY SKILLS
- Judging:
Assisted in judging student entries for RIBA Student Prizes for 2002 to 2005. As a Member of North Hampshire Architects Panel broad experienced gained in assessing schemes presented to the council.
- Management:
Held management roles as partner/director since 1973.
- Design:
Produced award winning designs for houses and commercial offices.
- Presentations:
Experienced in presenting schemes to clients, client bodies and public presentations.

I am Chairman of the RIBA South and play an active role in the profession."
